This week's question: What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books? Maybe you don't like love triangles or thin plots? Tell us about it!
My answer: Biggest pet peeves in books . . . ? Hmmm that's really hard to say because there's a lot of things nowadays that really peeve me off in YA novels - whether it's pointless love triangles or boring storylines where nothing much happens for the novel to move forward. But if it came down to one thing it would have to be the way author's write their romances and that ever-so-cheesy dialogue.
I can handle romance in its own way because I don't mind feeling mushy on the inside and laugh out loud when boys and girls communicate in a romantic-soap-opera way, but sometimes author's take it too far when boys start to nickname their girlfriends - calling them the likes of 'Baby' which gets on my nerves all the time. On the other hand, it's the girls who are the problem and I particularly hate them when they always comment on the boy's appearances and that familiar line of 'chiseled abs'. To me, let's talk about personality and continue with useful dialogue that actually goes somewhere.
So, what are your pet peeves in books? Comment below.
Have a great weekend you guys!
